writing
She writes comedy and drama for kids and teenagers, and has worked on TV shows including The Worst Witch (CBBC), Ivandoe (Cartoon Network), and Evermoor (Disney), and won the Bafta Rocliffe New Writing Forum in 2012. She’s just finished adapting a Julia Donaldson picturebook for this year’s BBC Christmas Special.
She is also the author of a number of children’s books, including Buckle & Squash (Macmillan), which was shortlisted for the Sheffield Book Prize, the Coventry Inspiration Award and won the Sainsburys Book Prize.
Her sitcoms for adults have been in development with Objective Productions and Channel 4. Her short stories have been published in Litro, performed at Liar’s League and broadcast on Radio 4.
She is working on a memoir called Everything’s Fine about how illness can tear your family apart, and how it can slowly come back together. It’s about exhaustion, anxiety and despair, and also about Frozen, K Pop Demon Hunters, fishfingers and love.

Her work is all about character, humour and story. She likes making work that is playful, personal and full of feeling.
She is also drawn to more challenging subjects like illness and death (all the fun stuff really).
